This can easily be combined with an adventure trip by kayak, on foot or by ox cart. You will never forget paddling down the Mangoky River and spending some magic days in the forest around the ruins of the White House where time stands still!

The Mangoky Reserve Team organises environmentally friendly adventure tours to one of the world’s most remote places: the unique biological hotspot of Mangoky. All our tours are tailormade for small groups.

All who are interested in contributing to the protection of this unique place by donations or want to use a period of their lives to do some voluntary work from home or in the Mangoky Reserve are encouraged to contact the Mangoky Reserve Team

Mangoky

The western dry forest on both sides of the Mangoky belongs to one of the last natural forests of the island. The wildlife in the forests with its lemurs, fosas, endemic birds, flying foxes and many reptile species is astonishing. In the river itself we find fish, tortoises and crocodiles This wildlife is unique and highly endangered.
