The end of a long journey

Our boats ordered in South Africa in autumn – five kayaks and an aluminum motorboat – have finally arrived in Toliara! It was a long journey, from Parys in Freestate via Port Elizabeth to Toamasina, from there to Antsirabe and finally to Toliara. The boats are now well secured at the Mangoky Reserve office in Toliara, waiting for their first use. The motorboat is urgently needed to effectively carry out the protection of the forest at the Mangoky Reserve whilst the kayaks are to be used for paddling tours on the Mangoky River. The first use of the boats was planned for this month, but had to be cancelled due to the Corina pandemic. We are now eagerly awaiting the next opportunity!

These are not Egyptian mummies – but the kayaks, carefully packed by the Vagabond company in Parys.
